The Browing Family are heavily involved as volunteers. Valerie, who is Andrews Auntie is known as "Queen of the Desert" in the Afar region of northern Ethiopia. She went to northern Ethiopia in the mid 1980's, married an Afar tribesman and is living with the tribes. Valerie has almost reached her goal with fistula and female circumcision being reduced by over 90% in her thirty years working in this area.

Andrew Browning and his wife moved to Ethiopia in early 2000's to assist his Aunt and Catherine Hamilin in their fistula endeavours. Andrew is a Gynecologist and has established two hospitals in remote areas of Ethiopia to treat fistula sufferers. More recently Andrew and his family have moved to Arusha in Tanzania and has set up a gyneological hospital there.
